One of our favorite days here at Slater will be our Slater SOAR. This will be a day that we take the opportunity to reward our students for their outstanding efforts in and out of the classroom for their outstanding behavior and for their good attendance. A SOAR activity is scheduled approximately every 4-6 weeks, depending on other school events. Students who meet the criteria are able to participate in the activity. Those activities may include, movies, arts & crafts, games, field days, and much more.
The criteria for participation in the monthly SLATER SOAR will be:
- Students are present and on time.
- Have 3 or fewer tardies or unexcused absences
- Have 3 or fewer tardies or unexcused absences
- Student behavior models the Pillars of Character
- 3 or fewer entries on Classroom Discipline Referral
- Zero Office Referrals
A note will be sent home prior to each SOAR letting you know whether your child earned participation in the activity or provide you with the reasons why they will be unable to participate. If you have any questions, please contact your child’s teacher.
